Lookout is a 6-month-old startup that provides technology used to search Outlook. MSN is vague on the details of the aquisition, but their VP continues to strongly imply that multiple source search is clearly on the horizon.

They removed all the pages linking to the download files, but here you go:

http://www.lookoutsoft.com/Lookout/download/Lookout110.exe

http://www.lookoutsoft.com/Lookout/download/Lookout118.exe
You must manually uninstall any prior version before using an experimental release.

Get it quick, before the Butterfly takes them away :p

After I installed it, a message asked if I wanted to update to version 1.2 (for free) from Microsoft. So I did, and it is unbelievable!

I've been waiting for a tool like this since I learned how to use Outlook . . . finally! This is what I've been discussing about internal search (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4849#post4849) before, and now a reality. Why didn't anyone tell me it had existed :o

MSN has posted a Lookout download link in the sandbox (http://sandbox.msn.com/). They even make a little stab at humor.

Is it me, or does the Lookout logo look a little Googlish?

Great find Lex.

Yea, the logo looks kinda Googlish, but that's the original logo, so MSN hasn't modified it yet. Notice how they're running the downloads at the lookoutsoft.com site and not msft's.

BTW, I'm running 1.2 and it works like a charm. I wish I had this software 4 years ago.
