Duplicate Content Penality, length of time

Has anyone recovered from a duplicate content penalty?

And if so how long did it take.

I'm not talking about just losing a few pages, I am talking about when google de-indexes everything except a few pages.

In my experience if 99% of the site is dup, google doesn't spare the few non duplicate pages.

depends on whether in was manual or automatic.. automatic will lift in time, depending on what the crime was :)

manual will stay in place until google is informed and the site gets a hand review
