I have a page targeting "SEO Widget", all the internal link text is "SEO widget", but the filename uses "search engine optimization widget" hyphenated.

Anyway, a few months ago the page started showing high up for the full phrase, mirrored in allinanchor results, I doubt the page has any IBLs, so this was down to internal linkage

So I assumed file names were being included in allinanchor calculations.

That page now no longer appears for search engine optimization widget, and it has also disappeared from the allinanchor results, though is steady for SEO widget.

So it looks to me like file names are no longer being used in the allinanchor calculations ;-)

What about when you add &filter=0

Didn't see it as a "filter" John, so haven't tried it TBH.

They seem to play around with link-based factors, I suspect the hyphenated keyword domain craze was a result of them adding domain names to the allinachor calculations....

I think you're correct. At the very least, the value of keyword rich URLs has dropped, if not outright been penalized.

Oh well, back to the drawing board ;)
