when I looked at those auctions specifically a long time ago the prices usually seemed too low to be a good deal.
many of those pages you get links from may not be in the search indexes (at least they were not when I checked)
it also seems to me that link auctions should go quarterly vice monthly since it can take a good bit of time for the links to fully kick in.
if they hosted those sites on various different C block IP addresses some of those prices would be dirt cheap, but if they are all on the same IP then there is not a ton of value there... then again the prices are fairly cheap compared to other link rentals.
