Probably quite a basic question, sorry if its been answered before.

I have a site which I am working on and starting to see some good SE results. I have only been promoting the .co.uk version, but the .com points at the same site (set at the server level, it points at the same web directory)

I am worried that if google somehow picks up on the .com, the .co.uk will suffer?

Thanks

You should be OK. But try to get your inbound links pointed at the one you are trying to get ranked.

its a windows server, and i can find no reference to 301 in their help manual.

i dont want to have to make an alternative site/page just to make it look different??

When you enter the site via the alternate URL, it should switch over to the primary URL, if this is the case thats good. But it should only do so via a 301. If you use FF you can downlod livehttp and look at it yourself. Make sure its not a 302. PM the url if you want me to have a look.
