Are SEOs & Media Being Fair to TrafficPower - Are they really getting a fair trial?

TrafficPower - are they being treated fairly?
Are the Penalties & Publicity too harsh, or prejudgmental? :confused:

Javascript redirects - hurt no one IF the results are relevant - to the search query being performed -
perhaps the conflict of making a Web page that optimize Search Engine readibity along with human enjoyablity and artististy are so anti-thetical that these techniques represent an attempt to have your cake and eat it too - a warning to search engines about their relevancy algorithms
- but NOT sheer malice.

What right does Google have to ban them and their clients -- change your algorithms GOOGLE so that they do poorly on the SERPs IF that is justified - but banning is in essence "Giving Up" and taking the "easy way out" with an "all-or-nothing" approach.

Being tech savy and overcoming irrelevant deceptions should be the hi-tech goal :cool:

I would have thought this was the 'right' they had:

"Don't deceive your users, or present different content to search engines than you display to users....."

"Don't employ cloaking or sneaky redirects...."

Every right! Do you list links people ask you to? An SE database has no inclusion or exclusion requirements, as indeed do virtually any "index". Libraries are not forced to have specific books, neither are sites required to list others links.

Its an old arguement, and quite frankly a tired one.

since they personally cold called me and some of my friends I give them a big thumbs down.

you don't usually earn that much negative press from so many independant sources without doing stuff wrong.

one person on my blog said that Traffic Power even cold called them at 430 AM. that is bogus.

the fact that they are usually one of my top 3 search term referrers is a testiment to how many people they cold call.

some people who have bought my ebook even entered in "researching traffic power" as how they found my site.

Traffic Power is getting a bad reputation not for spamming, but for NOT taking care of their clients.

A few years ago, as a corporate SEO employee, we made the mistake of spoofing the search engines. For months the clients happily wrote us fat checks and tended to their phones ringing off the hook with orders.

When we eventually got banned, all that glory ended. The main difference between us and Traffic Power, was that we still took care of the clients. For days the boss called the clients and told them honestly what happened. Billing stopped for months until we corrected everthing using ethical techniques.

Sure we lost a few clients, but the vast majority stayed. There was no vague dancing around by us, and there was no violent uproar from the clients.

Are you really serious, !! or just playing the devil's advocate? If you are trying to stir up some sympathy for 'poor old Traffic Power' I think your fighting a lost cause. ;)

most of the front page listings for trafficpower are press releases.

traffic power is a bit more competitive though. I am barely on the front page anymore. if most of the other pages did not have the same message as mine perhaps I would feel the need to promote it more.
