Hi there,

I'm dealing with a web developer that insists they are getting fraudulent clicks from our PPC accounts from a competitor and is taking this information from the stats program. It's a dynamic site. He wants to find the competitor. He's looking at it using the following criteria below. We have identified the IP as MSN's and the concern is that visits are the highest overall and the page views are sort of on the low side compared with other IP's. I don't know how to interpret this - is this visitors searching from the MSN browser? MSN users who are signed up as ISP?

Top IP by Views/Visits

% visits

This info is for a span between January and May.

The site receives hardly any organic traffic since it's new so we send paid traffic from Google and OVerture.

The developer is insisting and convincing my client to use generic terms for "vacation homes" in a specific location thinking it would generate a lot clicks however I found the conversion rate to be ultra low at very high click prices so I'm insisting on going after more specific terms involving "luxury vacation homes" which is able to get more conversions. I'm guessing the low page views is because the generic terms are attracting lookiloos who don't stick around. Our ads specifically spell out the price per night and say "luxury" on the first line.

Hope this is clear - would appreciate someone who can interpret the IP stuff. It's driving my client and me batty because my client really doesn't understand most of this stuff and is looking for some answers so she's bouncing back and from on what to believe. I've helped but the developer is creating a fuss about this and wants to pursue these as fraudulent...

help......
