Hello,

I’ve been using AdSense for a while on my English math website and I am very pleased with the results.

I’m considering having the website professionally translated into additional languages.

I know that Google will serve language specific ads based upon the language of the content, but I’m wondering if the advertisers market for these other languages are as developed as the English market.

The languages I’m looking into transliterating into are:

French
German
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Portuguese
Russian
Simplified Chinese
Spanish

How can I tell which one has bigger user markets and advertiser markets before committing resources into the translation of my content?

Thanks

It isn't as much dependent on the language, but rather where the visitors are located. So a French language page could have wide variations on advertisement availability depending on whether the French reading person is in Quebec Canada or France.

You might try doing some test pages by just using an online translation tool, then using the AdSense preview tool set to various countries, and see what the ad inventory is like. Don't use these translated pages for actual content though, the translations from an online translation tool are great if you need the meaning of something, but not very professional quality for native speakers. Definitely hire a translator to do it for you :) But an online tool is good enough just for testing purposes for previewing ads.
