Hi,

I run a poker website poker24.pl. The specific think about online poker industry is that people are looking for a single keyword: POKER.

On the other hand I read this forum and I learned that G likes diverse anchor text in my inbound links. Before that, I used only one word: POKER, in the anchors. So what should I do now?

And similiar question about meta keywords. Becouse of the poker world specific, all the keywords look like that: poker, poker tournament, world series of poker, world poker tour, etc. In other words, POKER is repeated many times. Will that hurt?

best regards.

I would start to use other words such as “online poker” in the anchor text. Rotating the anchor text will make your links look more natural. I would also have some of the anchor text link say “Poker 24”.

It is not even worth making meta keywords tag. It really does not help too much with ranking. With many search engines they just ignore the meta keywords tag. It at all depends on what search engine you are optimizing for.

Thx ACSSEO,
For G, is anchor "Poker 24" sth completely different to "Poker"? I mean, isnt' "Poker 24" less relevant for 'poker' search?

Talking about meta keywords I didn't expect them to help me, but was just concerned if overuse of the word poker won't cause any damage?

regards.

Very few people actually do one word searches these days - and the most qualified users will be using two or three (if not more) searches.

You should consider two or three word combinations for poker. You're more likely to hurt your SERP if you just chant; poker, poker, poker, than if you use the word frequently in well written copy.
