Is it possible to make a decent living off of AdSense? And, how long do you think it will last?

Are most of the people using adsense driving traffic through PPC, or allowing for natural search to take over?

It just seems too good to be true that one would be able to create a number of sites (provided they would rank well, and have good content) then just sit back and cash checks.

most the people I know are using organic traffic. some are buying cheap terms and sending people out on more expensive ads.

thats the intent. Google wanted to incentivize creating useful content (and apparently spam scraper sites). One of the biggest problems search engines face is the lack of useful original content across the web.

that's why i post here...thanks seobook!

I was toying with the idea of using adsense to start creating some diversified and regular revenue streams...as one day soon i'd like to be free of the constraints of corporate america and able to look at getting some clients on my own.

of course, the thought of doing adsense well enough to spend my mornings fishing and on a golf course is appealing enough to at least take a shot ;)

although, i realize there are thousands of people out trying the same thing and failing...so, anyone have tips for someone starting out, trying to make a living in the adsense/affiliate program business...or is that confidential information ;)

You'll need to watch the ads that G puts on your sites. I often find them to be off the mark. If the ads are off the mark you may want to get your own advertisers which shouldn't be too hard if you have page one rankings.
