Long time reader, first time poster here and was wondering if I could get some advice. My friend and I are new to the industry. We did tons of research and were at one of the SES events in the past year. After all this, about a month ago we put our site up online. We followed all the rules including, but not limited to, word tracker/keyword analysis, good title tags, good internal linking, links from some of the top sites (according to Google) in our industry, etc., etc. We are now in Googles index (i.e. allinurl:mydomain.com shows that we exist) however, our page rank is still a big fat zero. Now I know that page rank is not the be all end all of SEO but somehow we feel like we're not doing something we should be doing and that is affecting us. We did free submition to yahoo, google, zeal, etc. and yet there is that big zero staring back at us on the G toolbar. It's been very frustrating. Does anyone have any advice whatsoever? Thanks so much for listening.

Patience is a bitter plant, but it has sweet fruit.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Patience is good advice. Don't worry too much about PageRank, that's just an estimate of your PageRank, it's just a tool for you to use. The important thing is that you are in the search engine databases. Keep doing link work, that will help in the long run.

Hi Ronen, you sound as though you've done all the right things. Currently you may have to wait two months or more for the PageRank as shown by the Google Toolbar to appear at the right level.

The important thing is how are you doing on keyword searches. Are you getting into the top few for the phrases you care about?

Don't forget that PageRank is about the people with links coming into you who are also in the Google index. The ranking you achieve for different pages is about what you did here: "We followed all the rules including, but not limited to, word tracker/keyword analysis, good title tags, good internal linking..."

Might want to make sure that the companies linking to you are in the Google index and have some decent PageRank also as you wait patiently like others have been advising so appropriately. :)

Currently you may have to wait at least two or three months for the PageRank as shown by the Google Toolbar to appear at the right "beginning" level.

The important thing is how are you doing on keyword searches, content, content, content....and be patience, if you did it well, the PageRank is gone to show up.

In my site it takes 3 months to see a Page Rank of 3/10...Not to bad for the beginning. ;)
