SEOINC.com Penalized in Google

I have noticed seoinc.com drop from google. Is it due to the mass link buying? I have seen other sites drop as well without the mass link purchasing problem.

I lost a site's home page recently and I was under the impression Google penalizes sites not just pages, because that site's other pages still rank.

Any thoughts?

If it's 3rd party linking then Google better keep that one underwraps and fix it faster than a porn site on a result for mickey mouse. If you can link bomb someone out of the SERPS it'll make 302 pagejacking childs play compared to the damage that can be done.

How do you tell people to stop linking to ya? Is masslinking illegal? When was the last time someone got sued for linking to a service provider?

IMHO it's still so early to tell if it's just a burp in the system or a real live penalty if they're gone this time next month then I'd say kiss'em goodbye.

I bet Google has actually (not just patient talk) implemented a way to detect mass link purchasing. It has to be the IP address, whois info and anchor text. If it is all the same and way over there predetermined threshold then they are gone. They might look at the whois info to see how many times that person links out to one site and if you are part of the network then you are gone. There are probably 100s of factors looked at that determine who sells links and who’s buying them. That will be hard to re-create for someone trying to kill their competition. Who's going to pay thousands a month to buy links that MIGHT hurt their competition, when those links they buy might be bring their competition tons of traffic.

I noticed on a Google search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=search+engine+marketing+firm) for "search engine optimization firm" today that SEO Inc is back in Google. Good for them.

It's kinda strange how so many websites are getting banned on google, and everyone has different views on it. (http://banner.vegasred.com/cgi-bin/redir.cgi?id=N) There r many others getting banned by some unkown factors, and they never come to know. Its only a bad time for the companies getting banned.

At WMW in Vegas Matt Cutts said something similar to... If you are buying massive amounts of links, do not assume Google does not know what you are doing. I would be careful about buying links.

Not a direct quote but that was the message. He said this right before the session on Link Buying. Kinda reduced the audience for that session.
