MagsForLess.com, a Manhattan-based e-retailer, needs a full-time Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist. This is a contract telecommuting position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead a cross functional team in developing improvements to the site that result in higher natural search listings
• Analyze website content and architecture and make optimization recommendations
• Manage search engine submissions
• Optimize various site components including copy, metatags, page title/descriptions, site architecture, etc.
• Develop target keyword lists
• Perform competitive analysis to help drive future SEO optimizations
• Perform quality assurance ensuring that new site optimizations follow proper SEO guidelines with respect to coding and adherence to established copy/keyword standards
• Monitor overall SEO program success with regard to keyword ranking, indexed pages, backlinks, etc.
• Use ever-increasing SEO knowledge and research to develop and recommend new SEO strategies to management
• Keep up date knowledge of current SEO practices; must maintain awareness of various SEO resources
• Develop, execute and manage the reporting and tracking on all online marketing efforts including email, SEM, paid inclusion, SEO, affiliate programs, and partnerships.
REQUIREMENTS
• 2+ years as an SEO Specialist
• A complete understanding of search engine trends and search engine algorithms
• Knowledgeable about Java Script, HTML, & CSS
• Experience with WordTracker and online keyword analysis
• Ability to communicate instructions, expectations and deadlines clearly and effectively
• Experience with leading search engine ranking, traffic and analysis software
• Comfort with presenting new ideas and strategies to management
• Outstanding written communication, analytical, & presentation skills
• BS in CIS or CS preferred
