Hi there all ...

I had a look at the number of web-pages indexed for a specific country and used South Africa as an example. I used the following method to achieving this.

I did a search in Google for ( allinurl:".za" (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=allinurl%3A%22%2Eza%22) ) - i was hoping this will give me the number of URL's ending with .ZA

I am not sure how I would go about in getting to some kind of "right" answer. Any thoughts ?

It probably gets close to a number that gives you an idea, but it will not be accurate because I just spotted a few examples on page 96 (http://www.google.com/search?q=allinurl:%22.za%22&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&start=950&sa=N) like:

dse.de/za/za.htm
za-internet.de/
hdn.za.net/

Very nice try though :)

I thought it was allinurl:*.za that worked.

I'm sorry but I don't think that will give you an accurate picture at all - it doesn't cover all the generic TLDs - .net .org and so on. It also doesn't count those organisations who have bought the TLDs (using accommodation addresses where necessary) but don't even sit within the country.

That's got to be a nearly impossible thing to measure?
