I am currently looking at various tracking software packages for our website. With SEM campaigns underway and SEO implementation, and print adverts around the corner I could use some advice. We are a stock imagery company and I am really interested in nailing down some very granular campaign tracking metrics as well as user behavior/shopping cart data. Some packages I am looking at now:

*Urchin
*Click Tracks
*Deep Metrics
*HitBox
*Web Trends

If anyone has suggestions based on past experience or would steer me away from a particular software it would be of great help!

Thanks in advance!

The latest version of WebTrends looks nice but is...clunky and often slow IMO. Annoys users. Pricey, too, with limited reporting on paid traffic.

I appreciate your reply KeywordMonkey! I did rule out webtrends early after I posted. That has been the easiest part of my Quest.

This is where I am right now:

ClickTracks seemed to be the best, especially in the case of paid traffic... but requires our company to buy a standalone PC and the setup seems tedious. (We are a MAC house here, but I am not anti-PC as I am an SEO dabbler in my other life)

Urchin is very pricey for us as a startup.

So I am now leaning towards HitBox, which seems excellent for the price... but also has limited reporting on paid traffic. Since my SEO activities have not started yet... our core marketing is currently paid search. I am also concerned about the 3rd party cookies, where I am assuming 3-6 % of my traffic will be blocking these. It is still great to have over 90% of traffic stats... but this is still not the whole kit&kaboodle.

Any suggestions with paid traffic reporting, and comparable in price/ease of setup to HitBox will be greatly appreciated! Alternatively I will just have to create campaign specific landing pages, but it will still be tough to get revenue down to the keyword.

I have a pretty detailed write up named Urchin 5.5 - Web Analytics Product Review (http://www.rustybrick.com/seo_articles_8.php) which might help.

*Urchin
*Click Tracks
*Deep Metrics
*HitBox
*Web Trends

I've used all of them enough. Honestly, Urchin works the best and provides most precise data. If you want, don't take my word for it, take Google's with the most recent news (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=4919).

I'd throw in Unica NetTracker to that mix. It's not free but it will provide the granularity you reqiure. Very campaign focused and customisable too. SCL Analytics provide in the UK. and give a trial licence. Good luck

Having read all the posts above, I have a query guys...
I manage PPC Campaigns for our company. We have an MCC and 4 accounts across it.
Is there any software tool thats useful for us as a standalone company, rather than a PPC Management Company?

Thanks
