The characters at Ask Jeeves blogged on April fools day about The Future of Search Arrives: Introducing The Jeeves9000 (BETA) (http://blog.ask.com/2005/04/the_future_of_s.html). It is great. What you should really check out are the three videos.
The middle video is really for those who like Search Technology.
The last video, you can see Jim Lanzone from Ask Jeeves get socked by Jeeves9000. Now that is a better are more useful search engines. :D

I've merged two threads and encourage everyone to post or comment on other April Fool's pranks you've spotted. We're collecting a rundown on the blog here, if you've missed some: http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/050401-073452

Well - I don't think it was a deliberate April Fools joke - but Google removing every .com.au domain from the Google index, and giving every .com.au domain a PR0 on April 1st certainly got many Australians attention...

I recapped the Google April Fools Joke (http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/001753.html), some not all joke, or we don't think so. Also There is Jeeves9000, but what about Jeeves1000 (http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/001750.html), its no joke. And even the forums are into it, Cre8asite Forums is up for Sale (http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/001751.html).
Its going to be a wild day.

We haven't swept the lists, and you are absolutely a member in good standing with the forums.
Please try again, and let Kim or I know if you have troubles, before the new owners take over.

Today i noticed some of the PR 10 sites gone to PR9 and dmoz from PR9 to PR8.
Is it true or another April Fool Mania. I have to recheck those after 24 hrs :)

I blogged about some good new Google developments on April 1st too.
Google to buy CJ?
Is this rumor true? I know G has been on a buying spree. Just blogged about the inside scoop and unconfirmed rumor.
==================================================
Plus blogged about the new pager sized Google PSA (personal search appliance) that can search for and find anything. Especially helpful if you frequenty loose your balls.
