Here is a very general question:

We are currently unable to track unique users due to a couple of different issues. I'm currently working on a way to get that set up, but in the mean time, does anyone know of a good rule of thumb when estimating unique users from your visitors.

I was thinking of dividing by about 5 (our site has pretty regular visitors), but I have nothing to back it up. Anyone have an industry standard?

I'd like to know the total number of "visits" to the Internet daily comparied to the number of visitors.

oh, the fun of "just knowing"....

so, I went to ranking.com to see if they had some info.

found the top 50 list, took a sample of 10 (5 above and 5 below our number of daily visits), divided by the visits by #unique users...viola! 5.09

that felt good..despite the fact that it's probably not relevant, at least i have a number to use in my reports.
