We have recently redesigned our company's website and are noticing some strange results on Google. Our website in general ranks remarkably well for all of our keywords except our most important phrase. Our homepage has been optmized around it and what's suprising is that it is nowhere to be found in the rankings.
For 90% of our keywords and phrases we are on the first page of Google. Our index page is not banned. The main keyphrase is competitive, but seeing our competition and knowing our performance with other keywords, we should atleast be listed for it (even if it is #999). My question then, is there some sort of limit on specific keyword density with Google, or can a site be banned for a single keyphrase?
We have tried to use the keyword as much as possible on the homepage, but in a natural way. Unfortunately I can't release any specific information about our site or company, but if anyone has resources regarding rules for keyword placement (i.e. frequency in title tags, content, generallly throughout the page) I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
