I have just launched a major ppc campaign to drive traffic to original content pages that have been performing well with adsense ads. In the last 2 weeks my adsense income has increased 10-fold

With my new ppc efforts, my traffic has increased 10-fold in 2 days, but my google revenue has dropped to virtually nothing, approx 10% of what it was before the pc campaign. Has google made a change? Do they penalise PPC-driven served-pages somehow?

I had a friend click (in a different geographic location) click on an adsense link to verify it was all OK, and the click didn't show on my adsense stats - something is not right.

Views  ?

Stats are not real time, so it could be hours before the click would appear.

Perhaps smart pricing kicked in. But it could also be something as small as one or two of the best paying advertisers you were showing turned of content ads or paused campaigns.

If you are concerned, contact AdSense support, and they can put your concerns at ease.

Ask Google. The Adsense team is very responsive and will look at your account in detail. They have always answered my questions within 48 hours and provided personalized responses when requested.

Also, I find periodic down turns and upturns in revenue with constant traffic. I atrribute it to advertisers change in bids and new advertisers coming into the system for a particular keyword. I also find that Google tweaks the ads to get maximum CPM. Your CTR may go down, but the PPC may go up, etc. Give it enough time and Google will find the right mix for your site to achieve maximum CPM. Don't forget, they only make money when you make money.

Watch for hijackings, I am looking into this right now after my urls are showing up on competing pages as "inactive" - I suspect something funky is going on...My adsense dropped a lot after I started seeing this happen to one of my sites.

The campaign ran for 4 days last week, during which my click-through rate fell from 3-5% to 0.2-0.4 %, whilst traffic went up 10-fold - a clear indication that the traffic arriving from PPC advertising was NOT clicking on my links OR that there was a problem.

I KNOW I had at least 1 click on a high-value adsense link, but it has not shown up at all, even 3 days later.

It seems to me that PPC traffic to adsense-optimized pages may not always work.

Interesting.

I have noticed the opposite.. On a play around site I have. The conversion rates were under 1% and then for the past week everyday they are ranging between 3-5%. I checked to see if search ranking was a factor and ranking is about the same. werid huh..
