View Full Version : Why is Philly Future stuck at editthispage.com?

I don't know if Google has banned Philly Future's new (as of May 2001!) domain or if there is some kind of weird bias towards heavily linked editthispage.com sites - but phillyfuture.org is not being crawled by googlebot.

I have submitted the site (I believe numerous times).

For the longest time I had a meta refresh on the editthispage.com site to the new location. I've removed that and have posted simple links to the new location.

Numerous high page rank bloggers link to the new location and I am getting great traffic from MSN and Yahoo searchers.

But no Google.

Can someone help me?

Thanks :)

If you just moved the site, give Google some time to index it and recognize that other sites are linking to the new one. By your note on the old blog posted 3/5 that the old site has moved to the new one, I would assume that not enough time has elapsed yet.

If the old URL has the same content as the new URL, you should set up a 301 permanent redirect from the old URL to the new. This will tell Google the old site has moved to the new and they will then index it and even pass the PR from the old.

It's been a few weeks now, and no change. Google used to be very responsive to picking up sites simply via links. The fact that phillyfuture.org is not getting spidered by it makes me increasingly concerned.

Is there a way to find out if you've been blacklisted?

You can email them directly at "help @ google.com"

I did and got no followup. It was a couple weeks ago.

Use 'reinclusion request' as your subject and outline why you feel your site might have been banned and why it no longer should be.

I have gotten a reply from Google and they are going to reinclude Philly Future.

Thanks for all the help.
