Need free engine

I want to setup a search engine on my site, but I dont know whats the best search engine out there for free that I can use?Do you guys knows if phpdig is any good?

welcome to the forums. I've been using phpdig for 5 years now (on quite a bunch of sites), i can't say if its the best global site search engine, but i never had any major problems with it.

I am very satisfied with the Google Search on my site's home page. I like the ability to default to a search of my site, but gives the option of searching the web.

I also like not having to install or host any software.
