Hello All..
Good Day!
Quick question....
I recently had a site I had worked on for a few months, drop from the rankings on Yahoo. The site was ranked VERY VERY HIGH for all of the top keyword terms and now is not ranked at all..?
Can anyone explain this?
I have 300+ relevant, themed backlink partners, good website design and decent content on the site.
Any comments/Ideas/Suggesstions would be greatly appreciated.
I don't mind PM'ing anyone the URL if they would like to have a closer look.
Cheers

By any chance, did you have an ODP listing all along?

NOPE
:-(
I was running PPC for the client in the beginning and as soon as I turned it off, it seems the rankings followed fairly closely.
I am not worried about running any form of Yahoo PPC on a site I plan to achieve Yahoo rankings for..
Do you think Site Match would help this? Since the site is seo'd, has plenty of BL's which are relevant..?
I also have not updated the content on the site for a month or so.
Cheers

I would try updating the site before doing anything else.

Updating I am taking it as in adding some new, fresh content?

I would start by changing the text on the main index page. Without looking at the site, I don't know what it would take to add new pages.
Generally speaking, you stay on top in two ways:
1) You add new pages that get crawled
2) You change the content on your main index page
The less your competitors do either of those two things, the less you have to do them. I compete with sites that change their main index pages AND add new pages on a daily basis.
Eventually, you reach a point where the size of your content will keep your momentum going for a few weeks or months if you hit a slow period. But there is a hardly a month where I don't add something to my static content, and, of course, people post new messages in my forums every day.
