I'm looking at a site that does a good job of targeting the key phrase "electronic contract manufacturing" (In the page copy and off page elements) and I would like everyone's opinion as to why this site doesn't do well on Google. The url is: http://www.smartelec.com/. (This is not a client)
What they don't do is use a H1 tag, have the mentioned text in anchor text, use the phrase in the html document name, and they don't have any backlinks to speak of. I have seen sites that have the same issues and rank better on Google with phrases that are not that competitive, like this phrase. What is everyone's opinion.
Google's top 2 results don't seem to be that much better than this site except that the #1 result is a directory site.
