Hi,

I'am running a small software website with 2 products. Since January 2005
I've about ~3000 unique visitors/day, ~2000 are coming from google to my
keyword optimized pages. Download ratio is about 15% and convertion rate
is about 0,7 - 1% of finished downloads.

How do I optimze my homepage to get more downloads, why does only
every 8th person download the software he was searching.

Maybe you can give me some hints if you look at http://www.pmasoft.net
from your point of view

Thanks

I'm sure you'll get good responses from others here, but here is my initial take. You need more copy on your home/landing page. I'd move the links to the newsy items and forum down, and put a headline at the top that describes what you're offering and/or gives a little info about your company and your unique selling proposition. Then I'd put some descriptive copy about each product next to the images, including pricing to download or buy (right now, it's not clear that the downloads cost money - people may think they're free, and then bail when they find out they have to pay). Then I'd put the links below that. In fact, I'd skip the link for "information" and put that copy right on the landing page.

well, for most of the users this is not the landing page but you are
right, it looked not very good and had to less content. I've
changed that, hopefully to the better.
