Something really odd has happened with our site. We have a Page Rank of 7/10 and used to have just about every page indexed by Google. As of May 28th, our search engine traffic from Google has been cut in half. If you did a search on Google for "my-brand-name", we used to have 600K+ results showing up, now we have to fight to get 350K. On top of that only our main page is getting indexed now on the first page of results.

Google advertises with us (excluding ad sense), they link to our stories daily on the Google News website and we have a PR of 7/10. But no traffic. Its as if we are not getting crawled at all or we have been blacklisted or something.

Any ideas guys? I am lost here...

Thanks,

Ian Bell

Do a search for:

site:www.yourdomainname.com

And check out how many pages seem to be duplicated on the index. Not quite sure, but you might of gotten Googlebot a bit upset with your "?sid=2617" running on the url string. Session Id's tend to send crawlers on never-ending loops until they get tired and stop indexing. Then they often clean up the index for duplicate pages, so this is where you might of seen that big drop.

I hope this puts you in the right direction. Good luck!

I am pretty sure thats not causing it with the "?sid=2617".

We also have no duplicate pages. I have been doing more research on several sites and have come to the conlusion that Google must be re-indexing their database or something similar. Our results are slowly climbing backup now and everything recently we have written is getting indexed. Its just the older stuff appears not to be.

Try to get more and more back links from good PR sites.

some of my sub-addresses have "?*session*id*key*=*session*id*val*" hang along with my sud-addresses url.
example:
www.tattooxp.com/tattoo_machine.html?*session*id*key*=*session*id*v al*

can someone tell me why is that?
