Currently, we are seeking a sales representative within the search and/or online advertising industry to join one of our new portfolio companies, Insider Pages. For immediate attention, all interested candidates should send a resume to Careers@idealab.com.
Insider Pages is a search engine that allows users to quickly find great local merchants and service providers. It’s built on the concept that the best way to find a local business – a doctor, contractor, hairstylist, restaurant, etc. – is to ask a friend. The company has completed its first generation product which is available on line at www.insiderpages.com.
Insider Pages was founded in 2003 and is located in Pasadena, California. The company is wholly owned and funded by Idealab, whose mission is to turn innovative ideas into successful technology businesses.
Position Purpose: The Telesales Representative is responsible for starting, growing and supporting all aspects of the business sales cycle.
Key Position Accountabilities
We're looking for a background filled with demonstrated success in high-responsibility, high-accountability environments.
Accountabilities include:
·Place telephone calls to Los Angeles-area small to midsize businesses to sell premium local search advertising services
·Work with senior management to define and enhance the telesales role
·Provide sales results information by preparing and submitting summary sales report
·Provide recommendations on script changes and call strategy
Requirements:
·Extensive outbound telesales experience, preferably calling on small to medium size businesses
·Demonstrated ability to close sales over the phone
·Demonstrated ability to meet quota
·Ability to influence and persuade decision makers
·Candidates must also demonstrate excellent time management skills, with a proven track record of handling multiple priorities
·Strong written and oral communication skills, with a goal-oriented focus are necessary for success
·Desired experience selling online and/or yellow page advertising ideal backgrounds would be yellow pages, search engines, local directory sites, small business focused web development or hosting
·A bachelor's degree in a business related field is preferred
Compensation:
·Base plus performance incentive
