Been putting up some new sites recently - what's interesting to note is the difference in time for the ads to start showing relevant content on different structured sites.

What I find really interesting to note is that on some sites there is a very extended period before contextual ads start showing.

One possibly significant difference is the use of external javascript files in the delayed sites.

Question: Is anyone here seeing delays on AdSense displaying contextual ads where external javascript is applied? If so, why might that be? Mediabot confused by other JS use??

I don't think its a factor of external JavaScript versus internal page JavaScript. Its more of a generic time delay. There are similar (but not exact) thread on this topic named Multiple Ads - Different Sizes - Should it Work? (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=2908).

Since the Google ads are JavaScript executed it seems reasonable that if there is other JavaScript to be executed on the page that they would delay the appearance of the Google Ads. Maybe you can improve things by either eliminating the JavaScript or placing the Google Adsense code higher on the page.
