Not so much link text devalued, as other link relevancy factors added to the allinanchor mix.
In the last few weeks I've noticed some of my "SEO widget" pages are showing up for "search engine optimization widget" searches, and I haven't targeted the main phrase for years.
These pages only have internal links with "SEO widget" in the anchor text, but have "search engine optimization widget" in their file names.
Their allinanchor results for "search engine optimization widget" are really high, but I'd swear there are no links to those pages with that anchor text.
Just a bit of a mystery, though I'm enjoying the extra (no doubt temporary) traffic ;-)
