I've written more than once about the perils of misinformation on the internet (http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/2160991) and how seemingly innocent information that's returned in search results might in fact be wildly inaccurate or misleading. I'm not talking spam here, but stuff that search engines for one reason or another simply goofed on, and inappropriately promoted as high quality information.
Today's SearchDay article, A Skeptic's Guide to Internet Research (http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/3450341), reviews a new book by super searcher Bob Berkman that offers strategies and tactics for dealing with the challenges faced by anyone trying to ferret out reliable information online. The book is packed with tips and techniques distilled from Berkman's years of experience, both as a searcher and as editor of The Information Advisor newsletter.
