Hi everyone,
I'm very new to SEO and to these forums, so everyone please be gentle with me!
I've recently taken on a position as e-marketer and have some AdWords campaigns to look after. In the past, monitoring has not been all that good. What I want to do is set up some sort of spreadsheet to allow me to collate weekly performance reports for individual ads, and compare their performance with previous weeks. I was wondering whether anyone knows of a template or a software tool that would allow me to do this without having to set it all up myself? Ideally I'd be able to output graphs showing whether an ad has performed better or worse than last week. I haven't found anything on the Google site to help me with this - does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Rhi

Welcome! I suspect you'll like this crowd pretty well. ;)

I'm wondering if you have seen the 'Reports' tab, near the top of the page of your AdWords account? I think if you do some exploring there, you'll find that you can create really useful reports, including the ability to graph.
Also, here are some useful links regarding reports from the AdWords FAQ:
https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/search.py?query=reports&Action.Search=Search&type=f
And, here is a link to three 'lessons' on creating reports From the AdWords Learning Center: http://services.google.com/adwords/gap?lesson=3c
I wish you every success with AdWords! If you hang around this Forum for a bit, you'll learn a ton. :)

Nice reply AWR....
Most of the programs for reporting I use are included in my tracking and ROI software... KeywordMax, WebSideStory and NetTracker.

Please excuse me for blowing my own trumpet (so to speak), but you might want to have a look at AdGraphs (http://www.adgraphs.com).
This will allow you to chart the daily/weekly performance of different ads, and will show them all on the same chart.
Only one point to note - it differentiates ads by headline, so if you have multiple ads with the same headline they will be treated as one.
Cheers
Simon.

Interesting visiual aid, if it had the ability to do comparisons of impressions to CTR and CPA it would be a robust tool.

Conversion tracking charts (inc. CPA) will be incorporated in the near future. It wasn't a top priority because few people seem to be using this feature in their campaigns at the moment.
Not sure I understand what you mean by 'comparisons of impressions to CTR'- could you explain a bit more?
Cheers
Simon.

Simon. If you could superimpose the graph for an individual terms impressions with the actual CTR you would get to see if as more impressions are available if your CTR improved or stayed constant - you could use it to check the CTR against position and impressions as well.
