As SES Chicago next week, we have a session called What Would You Do (http://www.jupiterevents.com/sew/fall04/agenda2.html#400-3), where a panel of execs from the fictional GooHoo search engine will be dealing with issues. My blog post explains this in more depth: GooHoo! - Marketers To Run The Search Asylum (http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/041209-072021).

Take a look at that, and then if you've got things you want to add or contribute to the laundry lists we've done up already, please post here. You can also let us know about the company motto you want.

Would GooHoo consider having two levels of spam reporting - a 'public' spam reporting system (like everyone has - anonomous and generally 'site' based) and a 'professional' spam 'tactic' reporting system.

The 'professional' spam reporting system would be for reporting the tactic - rather than for reporting the 'Sites Positioned Above Me' - and would require registration by the professional. I envisage that the 'professional system' would allow for feedback/ clarification/ dialogue between the professional and GooHoo.

Personally, I think that the whole 301/302 redirection issue could have been resolved a long time ago if there was a formal mechanism for professional SEO's to have a coherent discussion with search engines at a tactic/ strategy level - rather than the current anonomous one way dialogue 'site' based approach.

GooHoo slogan suggestions:

"Search Just Became More Evil"
"Greed is Good but Evil is Better!"
"We're Not Evil. We Just Want All Your Money"
