Ok I've hacked PR from Google's toolbar. For experimental/beta purposes :D
Just wondering if someone has found a way to scrape the traffic rank from Alexa and the WebRank from Yahoo!

true I kept on coming across that. But I'm sure he won't give up the source code for that sucka. He's the only one I've seen so far that has broke it. Hey if you know him put in a good word for me ;) LOL

I know him very well, speak with him several times a day. But he wouldn't even give me the source for that. :D

Looks like I'll have to do it the hard way ;)

For the record, I didn't reverse engineer the toolbar to get the WebRank stuff. I busted out a packet sniffer and looked at the actual traffic to see what's going on.
Part of it has to do with a timestamp that rolls each day based on milliseconds. And to be totally honest, I didn't get it 100% right, because sometimes it doesn't work for certain sites.
But I was too lazy to fix it since I personally have always thought that Yahoo's WebRank is a joke and more like a "me too" gimmick.

Oh I totally agree about the "me too" gimmick :) when it comes to webrank Alexa is no better, Traffic rank is easily spammed too to boost.
I'm just putting together a couple of tools to benefit link builders. Nothing special just a couple of tools to allow the community to prescreen sites based on PR, WR and TR if they so chose.
Cool part about my job is I'm encouraged to push the envolope with technology/tools/site dynamics etc. I'd work for free for my boss if it wasn't for all my dang bills LOL.
Anyways DigitalPoint thanks for the clue :) I really do appreciate it!
*off to do some packet sniffing :D

It would be more helpful if WebRank was consitant and not on sometimes and off at others :(
