Has anyone seen any return? Honestly, I don't even know who they feed their listings to anymore.

Well, having followed the SEW Submission tips and guides about a year ago I listed at Looksmart - and they are cheap!
It was a couple of months before I added Overture and Adwords accounts and I did receive my 100 Looksmart clicks at that time . Naturally, because Overture and Adwords were way more expensive I basically forgot about Looksmart and just paid my $15 every month - in fact if I recall they carried unused cardit forward?
Having installed NEttracker in September I suddenly detected ridiculously poor quality traffic that I suspected came from Overture and immediately changed Broad phrase to match and started suspending & reactivating my account to try and get to the heart of the mattter...I looked in the wrong place!!
In between switiching Overture on and off I suddenly started receiving traffic from the usual suspects - lopsearch.com, hugefinder.com, finderup.com and more - for terms that use two of my three words and therefore are credible terms but I don't want the traffic - and based on the average visit length (99% were one page visits of less than 1 second) I suspect a 'program'...
Then I got an e-mail from Looksmart - my new month had begun and it clicked (pardon the pun) - all of this traffic was from Looksmart over the last three days of the month just to get me to the budget level.
Now this isn't really unfair as I believe they have a monthly minimum so it's money that was 'lost' anyway. Investigation has led me to believe they no longer can provide any traffic for my actual search terms. I guess it stands to reason as they are 10 times cheaper than Overture and Google for my searchphrases and 30 times cheaper for the (primary) search phrase.
I am about to review the SEW submission tutorials as I believe they used to say a Looksmart listing was a good idea. I am now wondering if losing that listing (I assume if I cancel the account it is lost) is good, bad or indifferent....
Hope some more replies come in and I hope this post is clear??
Best regards,
Peter

if you find the traffic quality to be crap that does not convert then dump them.

Well the good thing was that they are cheap and $15 per month is small change for 100 clicks...
But contrary to my previous post they were not sending me rubbish traffic to clean up my budget at month end...they were clearing out my budget for the new month...the whole lot in 2 days!! ...same general keyphrases, same engines, same patterns & same results --> 100% Didn't Stay rate
I still suspect a program and yes SEOBook I will dump them!:)
Best regards,
Peter

I started a campaign about a month and a half ago. they recommended spending $20 for the month and quickly recommended updating my amount to $120 per month. I messed up when I canceled the account and they still recharged me for another $40 and burt through 16 of them in a day and a half. this time I canceled my account and entered in bogus junk credit card info. see what they can get recharging 9999 9999 9999 9999 or whatevever ;)

Just as a P.S. - my Looksmart account was created when I first started my website using the excellent search engine submission tips series...
I notice that Looksmart is no longer mentioned there so kudos for a keeping the site up to date!
