Hello All..

I recently recieved an email about a new service EXACTSEEK is offering. Now I now the search engines contained in the EXACTSEEK Network aren't all that impressive, but I gotta think they still yield some decent traffic..

They have a new "Featured Listings" offering which seems pretty good. Your listing gets posted on their network of engines which includes ExactSeek.com, Aesop.com, MaxPromo.com, OnSeek.com, MetaWebSearch.com, Best-SearchEngine.com, and SitesOnDisplay.com.

The service is explained here:
http://www.exactseek.com/featured_listings.html

$12 for a THREE MONTH term seems very little, even if it results in only a few hundred clicks over the 3 month period.

What are the resident SEO's opinions on this service offering?

Thanks

Cheers

Critter

it seems to me that many website owners new to the web somehow end up coming across exactseek. a while ago I did. My brother recently did.

the main ad placements appear to be from bannerboxes.com and then exactseek seems like they sell the top right ads. I can't imagine that there would be much quality traffic for most terms.

the 1 year ad placement costs $36. it might be worth it for a directory to buy words like "submit my site" or perhaps a hosting site buying "hosting." most terms will probably be a waste of money though.

their relevancy and ads leave something to be desired. when I search for my site name I am not even listed on the first couple pages and they have ads like:
