Spam report

Since I can see so many websites achieving top ranking results using spamdexing, is spam report really usefull ?

for google, as far as I know it is usually not directly useful.

for Yahoo! it can be since they hand edit their search results.

It really depends. Someone just posted at an other forum that they submitted a spam report at 2am and then a few hours later they received a response for more information (personalized) on the site in question.

I guess some spam reports get through Google's "spam filters" (you know email spam filter).
