I need some help trying to figure out this #1 ranking:
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=%22interactive+pr%22

G says they have 1 page and 1 link (of course link: isnt reliable)
Y says they have 1 page and 369 BLs only but only lists 15 (most are dupes)

Thanks

At Yahoo! if you take away two of the sites that link to them on many pages, you only get 17 links - http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain%3Ainteractive-pr.com+-site%3Ainteractive-pr.com+-site%3Asocialtext.net+-site%3Aalwayson-network.com&ei=UTF-8&fr=slv2-&fl=0&x=wrt

At MSN, the same search reveals 21 links - http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=link%3Ainteractive-pr.com+-site%3Ainteractive-pr.com+-site%3Asocialtext.net+-site%3Aalwayson-network.com&FORM=QBRE

The page hasn't been crawled since Sept. 10 (almost 2 months) and only has about 50 characters total...

This is the biggest head-scratcher I've seen in a while - few links, mediocre PR, no on-page optimization, no content at all - something is seriously wrong with Google's algo to be putting this ahead of the rest of the results.

I'd love to find out what's making the difference and get my one-page, never-spidered sites to #1 positions...

I dont see any problem in that site ranking, It has keyword phrase in title, body tag and it is a keyword phrase domain,

Also checking wordtracker reveals 0 searches for that phrase, So interactive pr is not a keyword which many search and that phrase is perfectly suitable for that ranking domain,

I can see yahoo ranks that site at No.3 for that phrase, That is relevant result in my opinion,

>I dont see any problem in that site ranking,

Me too, seems about as low a competitive phrase as you can get.

I wouldn't always go with the current page content either, G has a loooong memory.

agree with top two posts.

because of the URL, structure of the keywords and the fact that there is zero "indexed" competition for the phrase, it should be #1

BUT, if you are interested in this phrase for whatvere reason, about all it would take to trump it is to create a web page, in an indexed site (preferably your company or freelance site) with links to the new page and title the new page "Interactive PR" and make sure to <h1> the same phrase and use it sparringly throughout some copy.

add your company phone number, address and perhaps a "why choose me"-type bullet list and VOILA ....you'll trump'em in a matter of days. {in my experience}
