Hay all
I am in need of some link building tools. To be more specific, something that might search a site looking for the link to my site.
If there are any link building tools that are not dodgy and allow "humans" to do most of the work (humans give quality not quantity) please let me know?
I guess the right thing to ask is, what tools are you guys using?
And what trade secrets are you guy willing to let out? (I guess they wouldn't be secrets if you told me, though...)
What sites make for nice reading / learning?
To all the ladies, my appologies for using guys.
I am new to this field and I am trying to learn as much as I can.
Thanks
Gilham

Link Building 101 (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=2616) should keep you busy for quite a while.
My advice? Stay away from anything shady. Starting with a bunch of directory listings may help you move out of the Sandbox more quickly.

"link building tools that are not dodgy"
It's not the tools that are dodgy or not dodgy, but rather how people choose to use them. Most of the link related tools on the market today can be used to create successful link campaign management functionality with a little customization and the non use of undesired features for your specific needs.

I agree with notredamekid. If you are searching for good link partners good directories are of immense help.
Also, you can try your competitor's backlinks.
Best of luck,

And of course, after the directory listings, you can write an article and put out a press release (submit both to as many sites as possible, and make sure your link is embedded in the copy).
A lot of work perhaps, but these are tried and true methods of getting *legit* *on-topic* backlinks. And they'll all be from unique IPs.

Yes, and do a "write for us" +your keyword search to find sites who are seeking articles.
Best of luck.

Try strongestlinks.com - you may find it the right tool for you. Besides - you can use it for free for a month so you can't lose much. This is the only tool I know that leaves you in control at every stage, and is nearly impossibe to abuse or spam.
Warning: When the above says 'leaving you in control' you should read it as 'it will do the 'donky' work but you will have to do all the thinking...' :)
