Thanks Aussie for saying it first!

Didn't want to be rude and point out the often pointlessness / laziness of SEORockstar's questions.

Yes Jag, I have often said that SEW offers a valuable service in the form of instant online help from experienced marketers.

Many other sites have gone in a different direction, focusing more on article and "news" publications with the goal of name recognition and monitary gain through PPC ads.

Top 10 this and that articles. Scraping of other industry news for posts.

But SEW continues to be a great question and answer forum

we are here to help = it is a sharing site both in general support and advanced info - in the early days we had some serious activity here because there was no competition except WWM now there are too many sites and few help the novice

I used to upload long videos to Google video, but then they halted that for everyone. Now it is just a video search. There are other options for long videos, BTW. I now use Viddler. It works great.

Just note that at Yahoo you are signing up for an account that basically mimics many of today's popular social media sites.

Blog, Twitter, pictures/picaso and so on.

So be aware of the big picture. You are creating a profile that is an identity that will be used for multiple Yahoo services. Meaning, if you are attempting to brand a product/service or company you will want to use the proper brand name. Yahoo forces you to create an email address with them, the username portion; everything before the @ sign will be used as your identity name ie: NotInMyBackYard@yahoo.com

Later in the registration and set up process you will be told that this username will be used as your identity. So your blog will be: NotInMyBackYard, your Pulse posts will be from the same id.

As part of your companies SM identity strategy you should attempt to be consistent with your profile/identity names on all Social Media channels.

Oh if you have not created one, put together a social media ID strategy.

Cool - J
