I know Yahoo is moving everyone over to Chitka and I had both. Now I am looking for something to replace Yahoo Publisher Network.
Did Microsoft get rid of their Publisher network? What is the name of it?
How are people doing with Ad Brite?

I have been playing with a bunch of stuff nothing comes anywwhere close to adsense.
Adbrite is a waste of time if you have international traffic and I think as it adds weight to your site actually would cost you money with the latest update.
I would look for a direct affilate that works for your site and Kontera.
I would love to find something that works as well.
Ad Center is the MSN network

Thanks for your response Chuck.
I have adsense and Kontera too. I was thinking about signing up with adbrite for one of my sites since Yahoo will be going bye-bye.
I agree with you about Adsense. Adsense pays my mortgage, our family health insurance and everything elese, but I didn't want to be dependent on one income. We get a check from Amazon, Commission Junction and sometimes Linkshare, but they were not nearly what adsense pays.
Chitika was our second biggest payer and we already have that on that particular site.
I was at Ad Center and didn't see anything for publishers. That is why I didn't sign-up with them yet. Now that I think about it, I have never seen a Microsoft ad on anyones site. They promote their service for Search exclusively.
It is a shame at what is happening to Yahoo. They have dropped their Geo Cities. They going to use Bing for search. They are now dropping their publisher network.
I had high-hopes for Yahoo Publisher, but to be honest it didn't make me much money.
I was just at AdBrite and I was signing up and got down to the social security number and stopped the sign-up. I wanted to check back here first. I had heard that AdBrite was the alternative to Adsense.
We also added Jambo to our site. They are a video player that pays us about 10 bucks a day. I also noticed that our bounce rate dropped way down after we installed their player. That was a plus. People stayed on our site longer.
Anyway, thanks again for your response.
If anyone else has an alternative to Yahoo Publisher, let me know.
Thanks.

I signed up for Adbrite. I thought it would be contextual.
It looks like Adsense so it will probably violate the Adsense TOS.

I was looking a Chikitita before back when they started I guess I need to go back and re look at them.
Adbrite I do believe has a Kontera, Link Share in text ad; I received an email from Kontera that I was risking account by violating their TOS. I liked the fact that Kontera said hey we got a problem, this is the problem, can you fix? which I did immediately.
The info on the net really is slanted. I tested kontera vrs Link share and I stuck with Kontera. Link Share does seem to pay more per click but the CTR favors Kontera.

We were doing really well with Chitika on our main site and getting great checks every month, but then they contacted me and said we had "sensitive content" on it. I tried to figure out what they were talking about. One of our "Dancing With The Stars" articles raised a flag with someone. There was nothing wrong with it but it was considered "sensitive". We got Chitika on all of our other sites still.
I used to have Kontera along with Adsense but stopped. Some say it violates Adsense TOS and others say it doesn't. They are both context sensitive but they can't be confused. So we didn't want to take a chance.
It was nice of Kontera to contact you first. That is the way it should be.
I don't know if you have tried Commission Junction. I think it is better than Linkshare and DoubleClick. I think DoubleClick is the worst of the three.
Always use the HTML code rather than their Java. I used to use their Java because it was shorter but a year or two ago I noticed our pages were getting flagged by AVG. After further investigation I found that the Java script was fed through a site that was listed as malicious. Perhaps it was the cookies? Anyway, I pulled the ads and changed them all to HTML. I was wondering what that was costing me.
I have been reading (I don't know if it is true) that people are making good money with forms on their website. I have been looking for programs like that.
For instance: Rather than go to the advertisers site to fill out a form, the visitor puts their zip, name etc on your site by filling in a form and then are taken to the advertiser. Sometimes all you need is a zip and name to get paid.

Thanks again for your insights.
On adsense and kontera I agree but because the kontera distracts and diverts from the adsense or other areas that I wiold like to funnel them to. The main focus has to be the end user experience or somewhere down the line you are going to lose out. not that my sits are award winners I do try to give content that lets the enduser walk away with more than he came to the site with.
The forms sound interesting but what I want to play with is the CJ click to call where you have a phone number assigned and if they call and convert you get paid. Makes allot of sense that it would pay higher and generate higher click through.
Ad words has it so that you can have a phone number as part of the ad and the advertisement lets you call direct if you have a smart phone, from an advertiser point of view that is a real strong selling point.
It has always been the case that if you were a brick and mortar and online your sales would be better than just a straight online play. People like to ask questions and if the anwsers are favorable they will buy now. it can really shorten the sales cycle. This is a real game changer down the road when it picks up steam
I am thinking moving towards that direction find something that is a strong affiliate program or high dollar product that you can rep and setup a call center. You could do it locally or globally.

We got a couple flashing neon ads from the Adbrite. We are trying to turn them off. It makes us look a little cheesy. It is one of our least trafficked sites and it is making a little money with Adbrite. We didn't make much with Yahoo either, so it is OK.
I agree with the Kontera and Adsense. Besides the user experience, I would rather have them click on Adsense, I think. I took the Kontera down off our main site because I was afraid it would cost me in Adsense revenue.
I haven't tried the CJ phone conversion yet. I had never heard of it until you mentioned it. I have seen phone numbers in the Adsense and Adwords and thought they were violating the TOS. How can I get paid if they just call the vendor?

Update:
I got a letter from YPN today telling me to download any reports before they close their services.
Chitika re-approved my main site but only from "silver". I have another silver website and a "gold" one. But the main site generated hundreds of dollars a month with Chitica, but now ???
Advertising.com contacted me about my main site. They have a new program that I signed up for. They pay by impressions.
