Hi Guys,

Ive been working on a client's site and ive noticed that for one of the keyword were going for, we are in the top ten but seem to be hanging around 8th-10th place. I have also noticed that another page in the site is also ranking for the same keyword, and seems to be moving up at a fairly rapid rate (around page 6 as I write this). This page is what I would call 'a filler page' it's basically a page called 'meet the team'.

I have thought about putting this as noindex, however what happens to the link juice/pr this page has accrued. Will the be pumped back into the first page keyword?

Thanks guys for your input

Kind Regards
Neil

you could 301 that page and make another for the content and change url name

Could it help to add a link (or another link) to the Meet the Team page that points to the main keyword page and uses that keyword in the anchor text?

Why not use the highe-ranking page as your landing page for the keywords you are optimizing? All you need to do is to modify the content.

Good question. Domain has better chance and easy to list for keywords than a landing page. Not all keywords can be added to the domain :) so we have landing page to promote certain keywords that cannot be accommodated in the domain. I split and I go for landing pages equally.

Best,

I doubt he'll want to use the "meet the team" page as the main page for this keyword.
