View Full Version : Does google ignore 'how to' ?

If you t ype in a "How to learn xyz" for example, the how to part is not highlighted.

Ive heard what is highlighted and what is "considered" were 2 different technologies - no idea if thats true?

But...does G leave out the words "how to" (when searching for possible matches)? In this case (and probably many others) if results that start with "how to" were returned it'd be way more relevant

how and to are stop words... not put in the mix generally though "" usually works

ah yeah..my bad...they DO highlight "how to", but dont highlight neither a single "how" nor a single "to".

The results are somewhat irrelevant on this, though..giving "how to" more weight (in the title, etc.) would probably deliver much more relevant search results in this niche (then again its probably harder to program it, than to just complain about it hehe).
