Hey, everyone,
I'm addressing this specifically to Danny Sullivan since I
found his article on Searches Per Day located here:
http://searchenginewatch.com/reports/article.php/2156461
I need to pin down the estimated number of daily searches
currently done on Google.
But there tends to be numbers that are talked about today
(even after the Google IPO) that are even lower than the
numbers quoted in Danny's article back in February 2003.
Some authorities like the USA Today, MSNBC and Yahoo
and newspapers are quoting that 200 million searches
are done daily on Google.
How exactly has Google's share of daily searches dropped
from 250 million as Danny quoted in February 2003 article, to
now like 200 million? That just can't be. Here are a few samples
of URLs quoting only 200 million in 2004:
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/techinvestor/2004-02-04-google-cover_x.htm
(a year after Danny's article above)
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4570868\
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/afp/20041007/tc_afp/afplifestyle_germany
(most recent article)
It seems to me that if Google was clocking 250 million daily
searches back in February 2003, they should be somewhere
at least 300-350 million, especially since they went public.
And another factor that should make this higher is the
continuous growth of the Internet and the number of new
users coming online. My point is even more emphatic
if Danny got that number back in Feb. 2003 straight
from the horses mouth.
However, my endless search to find a more recent figure
has been fruitless.
Could anyone help me out (Danny would be favorable) and
shed some light on the real true current number of searches
logged by Google?
It would be greatly appreciated so I can compute a formula
that's very essentially.
I appreciate ANY feedback (or pointing me to a true authority)
that you devoted search engine guys and gals may have...
