It took me 2-3 years of peer pressure to finally get a mobile phone. After the contract expired (2 yrs) I never had time/bothered getting a new one. Contrary to popular belief I've done just fine without a mobile phone for 3 long years. I'm not trying hard to be different, but I just dont feel the need to have one (people calling me weird isnt a strong enough incentive to spend money on one lol).
People call me at home or they message me online. Today I had an exam in the morning, yesterday I sent the professor an e-mail he replied to me with some useful advice, I sent that information I got from the professor to everyone on Studivz (the German equivalent of facebook) at 9 PM (I didnt go online during the day because I was busy studying). By today morning the 5 people who I sent that message to had all read it (despite being in exam cramming mode).
As the world continues to get more connected through the www, I cant see myself buying a cellphone again unless to put it in the car if I ever need to make an emergency call or if I need it for the job...or of course if I need to do optimize sites for cellphones.
