Hello web masters
My website is on first Rank in google. I want to know now what should I do to retain that position? As such my keyword is very competitive and i am afraid to loose that position with no work in few days.
So what steps can retain my top position??

According to my experience in SEO you should continue your link building work as you need to create a good huge gape between the number of link backs of your website and your competitors website.
Keep your website content fresh and try to get back links from your industry relevant websites.

Congratulations,and i think you just need keep doing what you ddi before.And you can have a try to change a keyword to do seo.

do keep updating the website so that in search engine point of view the site will be active and also as said by maneetpuri, keep building links.

be creative,make link in major directory such a dmoz, yahoo, botwg, business.Also if you have nice content split that content to the many article directories and social networks.Also try to make contact with some nice relevant websites to exchange links.

Keep doing what you are doing to get the top ranking. At the mean time, add more keywords to your SEO keyword pool. SEO is not about getting one or two keyword phrases to the top, it is about increasing the traffic of the entire site.

Yes, I would keep expanding and looking for more keywords to rank for. Sounds like you should be giving us advice, not the other way around. :)
