Change in IP Address

Does changing ip address for a website affects the ranking and indexing?

You mean, moving it from one hosting provider to another, which will change the IP address?

We have never had any problems doing this. The Search Engines do look for the age of the domain, but I don't see why they would care about the length of time an IP address had been used.

There are some technologies out there (such as Akamai EdgeControl) where a website is hosted by a third party, on a distributed system - and IP addresses will constantly change, depending on the user's location. We use these types of services, and they do not affect the rankings at all.
