I’ve recently run into an interesting article about the next generation of online advertising techniques. The article provides an opinion that the future web will be more monetized and the semantic technologies will cover all kind of web services including ad networking.
It’s a big challenge for contextual and behavioural targeting methods, as semantic targeting will provide more precise ad matching results. Moreover, several semantic targeting solutions have been developed by different companies such as iSense by Ad Papper Media, Apricot by 4AdNetworks, SemanticMatch by Peer39, and many others. It seems that Web 3.0 will be fully completed by semantic approaches and solutions with no chance for existing technologies.
