View Full Version : Beware of MSN using up your monthly budget in 2-3 weeks

Recently checked the budget summery on my MSN campaign and realized that they have been spending over the daily budget by more than double many days and my campaign had been stopped around the 17th of every month. One day in January with a daily budget of $30.00 they spent $228.00, another $126.00. I could go on and on with examples but you get the idea.
I called the help desk and got some lame advice on how to optimize my campaign, like only running on certain days. I paused my campaign with them and upped my google spend. About 2 weeks later they sent a survey to rate how helpful they were, so I filled it out and someone called me today and guess what? He gave me more lame advice on how to optimize my campaign.
I understand that the daily budget can be exceeded. When you click on the little question mark beside the per day setting it says "Your daily budget may be exceeded by small amount, but your maximum monthly budget will not be exceeded."
A small amount indeed!
Am I crazy or does this very seem wrong?

Serrera, I agree, most support systems inclucing adcenter lack experienced advertisers to speak to, or the CS is put in a box of things they can and cant say.

I don't know exactly what occured to you and what amount of money we're talking about here. If I only spend $20/day and Adcenter went over by 10 in one day = 50%. Well that is not so bad and expected. Scale that by 100 and I would be upset as well.

Double check your match types. I lean heavy on phrase and exact.
Adcenter drives a lot of search traffic and not content traffic, thus your pages also should be highly optimzed to your ads message.
