Are their any negative repercussions from having multiple text links from one site? I am not talking about site wide links, but links utilizing different anchor text and pointing to different pages placed on different pages within the site, but also multiples on the same page. We work with a couple of related sites who readily provide us with optimized links as we add new content, but I just wonder how beneficial those links become as more are added. Both sites also have decent page ranks as well.

Perhaps, depending on what you mean by (how you define) negative. There are a number of factors that can come into play. (IE paid links, quantity of links, relevancy, nofollow, anchor text, landing page, robots.txt, redirects, Flash, AJAX, iframe...)

Sorry for the not so great answer, can you provide specifics?

What I am referring to is links that have different anchor text and are located on different pages of the same website. Most pages these links are on have relative content to the pages on my site they are linking back to. I just dont want to de-value my links by overusing these couple of websites that constantly provide links. The links I get are in different forms. Some are located within articles of mine they publish and some are used as support/ reference links on pages with other links.

Well, if we take the blog world as an example, it's perfectly normal for those in related niches to reference each other in basically the way your describe. Nothing wrong with it at all.

But I do think it's all relative. If the outgoing link profile of the other site shows a large proportion of links to yours, then there might be a problem. Similarly, if your site's backlink profile is overwhelmingly from that one source, that's a possible problem.

If both sites have overall healthy linking profiles I don't think there should be any problem at all.

Thanks for the answer. All sites in question (mine and the other two) all have a broad link profile and do not rely heavily on each other. Those two sites just happen to be the source of my strongest links (from a PR perspective), so I want to be sure not to ruin that.

Hi CaseyC, I agree with jimbeetle, I don't see a problem with this unless the majority links from that site go to your site, and the majority of links on your site come from that one source. As long as the anchor text, links and content is relevant to the site and varies there shouldn't be a real issue.
In general, you may not get the same link juice from all the new links as you did from the first one, but there is nothing wrong with multiple relevant links going to relevant pages from the same relevant site as long as your site isn't the only sit they link to.

If you are taking 2-3 links in a month it would not considered as a bad link.
