Hi guys, I work for a pilot aptitude tests prep. company. It currently has a website. We are trying to increase the ranking of our website in the main search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Is there any tips about search engine optimization? What is the best starting point? Any commend is welcomed. Thx!

Sites that offer submissions to directory companies for a fee are a scam. Avoid any company that charges a fee for such a thing.
Start with sites like:
Superpages.com
Yellowpages.com
Google Local
Yahoo Local
Insiderpages.com
MerchantCircle
HelloMetro
CitySearch
MagicYellow
InfoUSA
Yelp
MojoPages
Ask.com
find the ones that allow you to create a business profile and weblink to your site for free....
after you submit that ... then go to SEOCENTRO.com and use the meta-tag analyzer and improve your page titles, keywords, descriptions on your site etc....

Start with keyword research and writing content for your readers. Use your keywords in your content.
Set up Google Analytics and a Google WebMaster Tools accounts. Those are great places to start.

Increase the ranking of your site in search engines by link building. You can submit your site to directories, search engines and social networking sites to increase the back links. Article submission can get your site a good position in the search engines. Use quality content and targeted keywords for your articles.
