Ask dropped paid inclusion, so you can't sign up new domains for this to get into the index.

I've not see a free submit link on Ask.co.uk, Ask.com or Teoma.com.

So, how are you getting sites in? I've done so via the crawler so far, but wondered if there was a more direct approach.

(Is there even a submit link I've missed? I know about AdWords.)

AJ cut the site submit programme for new entries on 31.08.04. It looks a bit like the MSN Inktomi issue, that the only way they will add new listings is by indexing from previously included sites.

I'm not aware of any direct way of entering new sites. Its as frustrating as Southampton's cup form......ha ha

Cheers for the answer - Ask themselves didn't give me any more info than I got from SEW - and tried to sell me AdWords (way ahead of them!).

Looks like I'll just have to wait for them to spdier the site via other sites - link building underway anyway, so just wait nad see I guess.

Strange they aren't offering free submit into the UK section of Teoma's index. maybe tech developments under way to improve results? Or just a lack of capacity?

Hi All,

From what I've heard AJ will index your site if they find a link to you from another site.

I think they use Teoma to get many of their results.

FYI - yes, Ask own Teoma and place it's results beneath AdWords results. Sometimes the very top result is a "featured sponsor" - these spaces are sold direct by Ask.

Link crawling is the only way they currently find new sites. Hopefully, maybe, Ask will invest in developing the Teoma algo further this year. Maybe.
